NOMI EMPTY BOWLS – Friday, November 24, 2017
Lunch 11am-2pm + Dinner 5-7pm
Empty Bowls is an international project to fight hunger, personalized by artists and art organizations on a community level. Folks have been making bowls of both clay and glass and we’ve received donations from several local potters to help us reach our goal. Thanks to Mike Smieja, for lending his expertise and co-planning this with me!
We are hosted by Gethsemane Lutheran Church, who run The Camden Promise food shelf on 100% volunteer power. We are humbled and grateful for the support of local chefs Taya Kaufenberg of The Lowry Cafe; Willie Vo of First Crack Cafe; Mateo Mackbee, owner and founder of Model Citizen Youth Farm; and Jason Leibel, of Soulful Culinary for donating soups and Lynn Guggemos of We Cater to You breadsticks, rolls and breads, and soup if we need it.
Join us for lunch or dinner and make a donation for one of the handmade bowls created especially for this event then sit down and enjoy a delicious bowl of soup with some new friends in community fellowship. And you get to keep your bowl! All money raised is donated to The Camden Promise.
