Glass Fusing Fun – Connie Beckers, Instructor
Ongoing Thursdays & Saturdays, this is the one that started it all and is the one beginners and folks with a Groupon will sign-up for. No glass experience required, this workshop is designed to offer a very basic introduction into glass fusing. You will start with pre-cut “blank” pieces of fusible glass and have up to three hours to create your choice of plates, coasters, soap dishes or trinkets using colorful shapes from my scrap bins to complete your designs. You’ll get a little glass cutting and nipping instruction to form your shapes and learn all about the kilns and what it takes to become The Goddess of Glass. This class is suitable for children age 8 and up accompanied by a paid adult.
Experienced glassers are invited for fusing and stained glass open studio time. $15 studio fee plus per project costs for either clear or color glass. Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org for project costs and to reserve your spot.
Fri, 6/10 2 to 7pm & Wed, 6/29, 4 to 9pm
BIG PLATES/Intermediate Glass Fusing – Connie Beckers, Instructor
Create your own fused glass garden art similar to the ones pictured above done by Susan Spiller. We provide the high temp wire but not the shepherd hooks. You’ll begin your pieces on pre-cut blanks of either clear or color of 6″x6″ or 8″x4″ and add your own unique designs inserting high temp wire to make them solid for hanging. Some pre-cut shapes will be provided and you’ll have access to all the scrap bins! If you finish early, make some more for a nominal fee.
PRIVATE GLASS FUSING PARTIES are a great deal with a rate of $45 per person with or without a special occasion to celebrate.
