Glass Fusing Fun – Connie Beckers, Instructor
Ongoing Wednesdays (7-10pm) & Saturdays (10-1pm or 3-6pm), this is the one that started it all and is the one beginners and folks with a Groupon will sign-up for. No glass experience required, this workshop is designed to offer a very basic introduction into glass fusing. You will start with pre-cut “blank” pieces of fusible glass and have up to three hours to create your choice of plates, coasters, soap dishes or trinkets using colorful shapes from my scrap bins. You’ll get a little glass cutting and nipping instruction to form your shapes but you will not be operating the kilns. This class is suitable for children age 8 and up accompanied by a paid adult.

INTRODUCTION TO CLAY- Mike Smieja, Instructor
Both of these sessions have begun but you are invited to join in still.
Mike says you can drop-in at the Thursday or Saturday session for just $35 to give it a whirl. If you like it and wish to continue, we can work out a prorated payment for the remaining sessions. Please email to let us know you’re coming as a drop in! Open studio is offered Saturday after 1pm for additional independent or guided work.

Class is 6 weeks; sign up for either the Thursday (6:30-9:30pm) and Saturday (10am-1pm) session. FEE: $130 + $25 materials fee paid to instructor at first class. Studio members save 15% on the fee.

Students will learn the basics of hand-building along with beginning wheel throwing. Decorating and glazing along with firing will be covered with an opportunity to participate in a special raku firing at the end of the session. Open studio will be offered, as well, to allow for independent study and/or one-on-one instruction. Class size is limited to six.
